Started out in a local park fishin the grass in an area I have pretty much cleared of everything including trash. I hadn't hit this spot in a couple weeks and figured I would give it another shot. No real fresh drop clad to speak of, but still some in the 2 to 3 inch range. Ended up with about $3.00 bucks worth. I also ended up with this real thin silver necklace. It was all tangled up in the dead grass left by the park mowers. When they mow the wet grass during or after a rain it clumps real bad and hides tons of stuff. Rang up as foil, but because I obsess I had to dig it out. Glad I did. Kept the jewelry streak going.
The ring has an interesting and guilty tale. I met up with my hunting partner for a school run. Now I have been tryin to get him to find a ring all year. Keep that in mind. He hits the wood chips at the school, and starts on a small pocket spill. I wander over to watch, and see what he comes up with. My MXT is still on and when I set it down it rings up a bottle cap. So I kick at the chips, and out pops the ring. I couldn't have been 4 feet away from him, and he probably would have hit it with the next swing or two. I pick it up and tell him sorry, I can't believe I'm a claim jumper. We both laugh, and I offered him the ring, but of course he says nope he didn't find it. He says his chance will come. I know he will score a ring sooner than later, but he was that close. He has been ribbin me about it all night. All in fun though cause that is the name of the game. The ring turned out not to be anything special so will end up with the kids as treasure all the same. As always I hope your hunts are going as good or better than mine.
