No coins today! but 2 ROMAN Firsts for me.
Grabbed 2 hours between the showers yesterday. still on the new field. only found lead ,lead , and more lead . Oh and some brass cartridge ends. then a different signal that sounded deep, l was on a crop of spring barley and in order not to make too much mess of the crop l try to leave the deep ones till the crops off, but the signal was in a bare patch so l dug down about 8-9 inches and revealed the Roman Key Ring,(my first one). then just before it started to rain there was the Roman Hairpin with it's end sticking out of the ground, just waiting for me!! Hutch.
