There’s an old lamp in my grandparents house that has a little round part for a table to set drinks or whatever and a bunch of knobs sticking out around the round part that are similar, although they are just wood but maybe something similar?

It is cast(seam) If it's non magnetic and not brass, I would guess it's pot metal of some sort.

I can see that possibility, a "Bird Point" that won't get stuck in a tree.

The wood inside the appears to have a cut cross grain surface and a hole in it. The wood cut appears to be exactly 90 degrees. The wood seems recessed a bit from the rim of the metal and there do not seem to be saw teeth marks in the metal as there likely would be if the wood was cut after it was in the metal. So my conclusion is that the wood was cut before it was inserted in the metal. If the wood were a broken arrow shaft, the break would be splintery. I'm thinking that a short piece of dowel was cut and put into the metal. Then it was screwed onto a drawer front by having the screw sticking out and this piece held and the screw turned into the wood by a screwdriver held inside the drawer. One thing against this idea is that the possible screw hole is not exactly in the center of the piece.
It's a fun and interesting puzzle!
