I went to a local park that is directly behind a row of late 1800's houses. I found a half of a musket ball first. Then in between two 200 year old+ oak trees, I got a solid, repeatable tone and 50 VDI on Julio. Dug down 4" to find this: An 1867 Shield Nickle! Worn for sure, but still legible. My oldest US coin to date. I barely touched this park and will be going back...Also found a little happy face/ BFF kid's necklace in a different park. Came home with about $6.00 in clad for charity. Thanks for looking, Happy Hunting to all of my TNet friends! Sub8-)

Shield Nickels are hard to find. Congrats on your oldest US coin!

That’s a great find! Congratulations on your first shield coin! Love it!

A shield nickel is awesome in my book. I have found three of them but yours is in way better condition than any of mine. Good luck on the next one.

Stoke City! I'm still looking for one

That’s awesome man! Congratulations!

I’ve only been fortunate enough to dig 1 shield nickel and you also just beat my oldest coin with a date by 3 years !
