For my first time, I went out at night! I searched Siloso beach on Sentosa Island (Singapore) from 0800pm to 11:00pm, and found the beaches deserted except for three people fishing. The temperatures were a lot better, a nice 80F with a comfortable breeze. This was so much better than my usual daytime hunts! My three hour beach hunt with my V3i brought home $14 in coins, a bunch of junk rings, a sterling silver bracelet, a copper bracelet, and about $500 in gold, plus a diamond. I only dug up 6 pieces of trash, and not a single pull-tab. ;D Not bad for a three hour stroll at night.

(this lovely stone ring was sitting on top of the sand... in the dark I could just barely see it, and thought it was a bottle cap. But my machine made no sounds over it, so I picked it up. Glad I did.)

SECOND Nighttime Search

Went out again last night for 3 hours. Found the usual coins, along with 5 rings and some other junk. The little sterling band is simple, but nice.

The sheer number of coins I find here is crazy. You should have seen my path along the beach. When I turned around you could see my path of torn up beach behind me, as I was finding a good target about every 3 feet. All totaled, I have close to $500 in coins so far. When put through my tumbler they all clean up nicely! before I leave Singapore in July, I'll take a photo of my complete haul. It will be hard to ever beat beach detecting here.

Singapore is a mix of Taoism, Buddhism, Hindu, Islam, and Christianity. With so many different religions all living and working together it's no wonder I find many different religious artifacts here.

This monster raised my blood pulse when I saw it in the scoop. In the soft glow of my night-vision red head-lamp, it looked even better! However, after I got home I realized the weight was off. I am convinced it is plated, or worse, no gold at all. It is the first gold ring that looks like 22 kt, without the usual "916" marking. The markings it does have is "JCC" which means nothing to me. It's definitely not 22kt, as I have lots of that stuff now and this just does not have the correct weight. It's coming in at 4.64 grams, and it should be closer to 10 grams.

There where a lot more people out Saturday night, so I may skip that night from now on. Not sure if I am up going out tonight, as I have to work Monday morning. Bit now that I am comfortable (and actually enjoy it more) I may be doing a lot more of these night hunts!

So, do you ever see other detectorists out there day or night? :dontknow:

The only other guy with a detector is a man I work with who just bought one, after seeing all the stuff I am finding. I have seen ONE tourist with one back in January, but only once. I have not seen anyone else since. I have these beaches all to myself.

And the crazy part is how I keep going back over the same stretch of sand. I still have not touched the "blanket line" or any of the play areas further away from shore. I have only done the waterline on two of the three beaches at Sentosa. This place is still untouched, even worth me grabbing all this stuff.

Wow..you are living the dream for sure...someday I have to get over there... :icon_sunny:

Wow nice find again and another successful stealth mission. The religous one with the face is my favorite of the 2nd finds really cool looking.

Really nice finds there. I've been thinking of traveling abroad to detect a particular beach I found on goggle earth. My question is how can you get your finds back home through customs in the U.S. Could you just ship it UPS or FED-EX it?
Keep up the good work PKennett !
