So me and the wife went on a night hunt, she scored a 5th Cavalry 25 cent which should clean up nice and I scored a big 15th Cavalry 50 cent, mine has seen better days. I'm gonna try to restore it a good as possible. Haven't been able to find mine anywhere on line.

very very cool

Those are some nice tokens, but they will need a little bit of TLC. I have found at least 150 trade tokens with my detector, and the aluminum examples can be very bitter sweet, and will usually have some corrosion. The only way I have ever found to restore aluminum tokens is by brushing with a BRASS bristled brush. This process with reveal any lettering and design still present while removing the thick oxidation from the token, but will leave pitting where the thick oxidation was present.

Keep in mind that the corrosion is a continuing process which does not stop once the token is removed from the ground, and appropriate conservation is necessary for the long term preservation of the specimen.

You and your buddies are working on the complete set of military tokens from that dump. That will be quite a feat.

I love tokens I dont find many but those are really cool Good job
