Got back to the usual scout camp today and detected a site that isn’t used much. I thought there wouldnt be a lot to find but thought I would give it a shot. Got out the CZ 21 and started swingin. Found a few coins and pegs in the first hour and then things started picking up. I spent 6 and a half hours finishing the campsite and had a nice haul. 129 tent pegs left at camp for the staff, and an old horseshoe from the farm the camp was built on
183 coins with a face value of $14.93, 3 modern No Cash Value tokens, and a toasted no date wheat penny
2 Webelos neckerchief slides, 2 old Cub Scout slides, 11 leather stamps for decorating leather projects, a variety of fishing sinkers, 2 rusty handles for the leather stamps, 2 aluminum rope tensioners and a gold plates wire ring with an odd stone.
The stamps are 3 different sizes and the wire on the ring went through the stone. The wire broke when I used the toothbrush to clean it and I can see that the gold is only plating so no need to test.
The weather was better, warm, so no frozen fingers, very little wind and some sun off and on. Much better than earlier this week. All in all a lot of digging with decent rewards. I will clean up the handles and give them back to the camp director along with the rope tensioners they reuse and the leather stamps.
Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
