A little outing today and I found my nicest buckle ever. I believe it to be pewter (if it's possible). I can seem to make out the brand (maybe Jameson) ans I have no clue of the possible date (the site as a lot of history). Any help is welcomed from you experts.

I would agree with Crusader on the age on that one. It has a fork tongue which was used after 1720. I have found a fair share of older buckles but none quite as pretty as yours. This site will give you some great info on buckles. Yours would be in the Georgian period. Check it out:

Oh so that's what a real shoe buckle looks like !! I have dug many from later 1800's and always wonder this could be something. ??? Now seeing this post I see what your looking for. :icon_scratch: :o

Keep @ it and HH!! :D ;D

So it was found in Canada, near Quebec City. Knowing a bit about the history here, It would make sense if it was english. I found it in the middle of the woods and int the last half-hour of our outing. I checked around it quickly, but we had to leave. Of course I'm going to go back and check again and go in the parts we haven't checked yet. It's going to be a great summer !

Thanks for your good comments.
