I had a chance to pick up this piece on Sunday from a local estate sale. It's not the showiest axe I've ever seen and not the greatest pics (bad lighting) but when you hold it the form really comes out. Overall it has a great polish and super bit. I've found around 15 whole axes, or so, and this is better than any I've ever found. Although axes are fairly common around here finding one even in this condition is very difficult. It was found in section 24 of Burns Township in Henry County, Illinois. I always enjoy acquiring nice local pieces like this and it's headed for my keeper cabinet.
