I was able to get out to Long Island, and get in a short beach hunt with my friend Joe P. I wanted to test the machine I will be reviewing on an Atlantic beach. Joe took me to a town beach out between Jones and Robert Moses, that he said was a tough beach to detect because it has a lot of iron.
I detected some of the volleyball courts, finding recently dropped clad, then headed out to the water line. Bottle caps and pulltabs quickly gave way to deep, rusty, iron bits-n-chunks in the wet sand. The machine was able to tell me it was iron and, as a PI user normally, it was a pleasure not having to dig those targets.
Joe scored two pieces of silver (ring and dime), but I'll let him post 'em. I got clad, some old deep stuff down at the water - late '60s, early '70s, and new stuff from the Volleyball courts. Really pleased with the detector, and it was a beautiful day to be on the beach with a good friend!
