Got out on a beautiful day in the Flathead. But I also like to say any day in the Flathead Valley is a beautiful day. Flathead goes down eleven feet every year and it is down about eight feet now. They built a dam in I'm guessing the forties so the old stuff is under water come summer.

Very nice day on the lake! I know you love those buffalo's. I was out yesterday and did well also.

cool finds! gz! :icon_thumright:

Thanks for the replies everyone. If it was not for Flathead Lake keeping the shore free of frost I would not be able to detect. Its really something that the Great Lakes are almost all froze and Flathead is not.

Nice Benjamin dirtscratcher. I'm back from the oil fields and holed up in Fermdale. I'm pretty crippled up and using crutches, so won't be doing any detecting till Spring at least. Are you detecting near Doc's Island?

Sorry to hear that. We were over on the West Shore. No frost what so ever. When you get to feeling better give me a shout.

Hey Dirtscratcher ! Nice finds !! I had to reply because I lived in Montana in the 50's and 60's - As a pre teen I attended a summer camp
on Flathead lake called camp Marshall , in 1967 and 68 . This was an Episcopal church camp I have know idea if it's still going - Now that's a
place I'd love to go detect !

Nice finds, congrats on the big silver!

Ive seen some beer cans from lake beds and because they were in the muck and didn't get much oxygen - they looked really good (even 1930s ones) - see any?
