Hello There Hoser,
Llano river is one of the destinations on my list of things to do in Texas and thank you for the input. I will bust out some maps to begin my learning of what is out there to be had, so to speak.

I need a garage at someone's home so I can tune up the motorcycle a bit before I take on some long rides from the 'apartment'. I would use the bike for the first trips and then would back off to the Bronco when it was determined just how much stuff I should bring. I might even find time to complete the highbanker mod to my A52. What are the forest conditions like up your way: dry, really dry, super dry, water levels and the like?........................63bkpkr/Herb

Dry as a popcorn fart my friend. Lower than september last year-also a drought year. Can't even run a 4" anymore and even a 2 1/2" iffy. FS/BLM taking over the trinity river and all adjacent mineral rights-MY CLAIMS-so fight is on yet again as they just happened to oopsie miss my 22 year old claims and NOT notify me- m'all-John
