I went out to an ancient old site today that I thought would yield some very old finds.... I drove about 30 miles one way to hunt bewteen this church that was built in 1848, and behind it stands the building they had church in before that one. The 1848 building has been moved since I was by there last..... but I thought I would still find some nice old stuff... I figured that the place had been pretty well picked over, and after about 30 minutes of gettin absolutely no hits, I ran across a little patch of very shallow new coins.... I then stumbled on a little section of sand where i think some play equipment was for a while down the bank from the building.... I started finding new coins like crazy..... I bagged 55 coins yesterday to set my single day mark, but had to stay out in the dark until 9:45 with a flashlight to do it. Today, I dug out a total of 156 coins in 3 1/2 hours. I bested my previous record by over 100! The list goes:
146 Pennies
3 Quarters
1 Nickle
6 Dimes
$2.86 Total
To top the day off, as soon as I got out of my car, I found 2 Ten Dollar Bills laying on the ground, with that find, I bested my one day money total also.... $22.86
I did manage '28 and '54 Wheaties
