Newbie!!!

Welcome to the forum!

Is it possible that what you have is not a coin but a token dated 1865, with the name or word Barber on it?

My reason for asking is that the coins usually described as "Barber coins" are the 1892-1916 U.S. silver dimes, quarters, and half dollars designed by Charles E. Barber, who was the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 1879 until 1917.

If possible, please post photos (front and back) of the coin or token, and I'm sure that someone here will be able to help you.

Hmmm. Someone just said they thought it was a barber. It just says 1865. I'll see if I can get a decent pic to post.

Thx!
