Newbie needing help

I have just started getting into this new hobbie and i was wondering what would be the best detector to get? I dont want to spend over 300 and im more looking for lost stashes, relics, and unique pieces. I live in a very historic area in South Carolina and am ready to explore the past......SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

I got a BH Quick Draw II as light weight md to hunt coins. It is a motion mach so for me it took a little getting use to. I paid 190.00 but for the price its a very good md.
