Prospecting
Hey there! I'm brand spankin' new to this whole treasure hunting thing. I live in BCC, Arizona and am surrounded by hundreds of acres of gold bearing land and streams. I am only really interested in panning and drywashing, as MD'ing is illegal as I read it on BLM lands.

Anyone familiar with the Black Canyon City area, (including crown king, cleator, bumble bee, etc) I would very much appreciate some beginners pointers. If you have an old claim that you're not working, or one that you are, and are looking for some more hands, I'm interested in that also.

Just looking to get my feet wet and have some fun digging in the dirt.

Thanks for the clarification. I tried looking at the BLM site to see what was claimed and what wasn't, but I suppose I really don't know what I'm looking at. I ran across one of the Roadrunner claims yesterday and checked the website out, but I'm not sure I want to drop 300 a year quite yet. (Though, out of the clubs I've found in AZ, they are the cheapest)

If I am on BLM land, and there are no claim markers anywhere, am I allowed to just dig a hole as long as I fill it back in?

Here is a link to some other prospecting clubs near you, Y-Not and Weaver are $35 - $50 annually out by Rich Hill where we operate our school Gold Prospecting Clubs, Books, Equipment Check them out. You can do anything you want on BLM land, but stay OFF "State Trust Land." Do some more research, and go have some fun!
