Went to the sledding hill today and found a bunch of clad and this ring. Didn't think it was gold at first so I had my 7 year old son put it in his pocket with the clads.

Inscription JM to ET 9-7-68

Is that engraved to ET? What is the date on it?

if it was '86 you'd have a movie buff on your hands there right? :laughing9:

Good job on a good find. Congratulations.

IMHO, Relic Finders post makes some very big judgements calls without knowing a thing about the find. RF's post is out of line.

Bowtechian, I offer my apologies to you for what in my opinion is an out of line post made by Relic Finder with absolutely no background given to support his assumptions. There are many IF's related to your find. If you had not found it it would still be lost. If the couple were in the area/still alive/still married etc, etc. Yes if somehow heaven smiled upon you and led you to them, the husband and wife related to that ring, then yes it would be a wonderful and tearful reunion. It seems the inscription was special and sincerely meant. However it was honestly found, honestly shared with the group and should be honestly accepted as a great and unique find without demeaning the finder with baseless claims.

Welcome to Tnet with all its pluses and minuses. There will be better finds and better days............................63bkpkr

I wish I had seen the post, I didnt demean him or the poster of the thread his agitation came from, was trying to look at it from both sides
