I just got a Blue and Gray after christmas, and have been digging around in my yard and relatives yards... I go to a boarding school in Va, and took it with me. I found and old plow shear about a foot beneath a pile of rocks in a pasture. It's from when the first starte to plow the field... no clue on age...also found two wheat pennies... 1 1940 nickle and some other random pocket change... Just learning to use the detector in Va... I have dug up more mineralized rocks than any thing else. Got to figure out how to discrimante the mineralized Virginia soil.

I'm using a White's Blue and Gray, I'm medal detecting in and around Orange Virginia and Madison Virginia.
I bought the blue and gray because many of the people in the area use it due to the soil, but i have not been able to adjust it so that it works well with the soil around here.... i also have not been able to acurately use the item targeting and depth finding systems of the machine.

i know exactly where you are located less then 45 min from me you are trying to detect in what is known as hot ground which means theres a sh%$ load of iron in the ground where you are located unfortunately the machine you have is not sufficient enough to discriminate out the hot soil up on 20 heading towards fredericksburg theres and old antique store on the right hand side of the road i cant tell you the name of it but i can take you to it the older gentelman that own it use a whites 5900d if you know where I'm speaking of then check with them if you do not send me a privet message and i will see what i can do to help you out by showing you where it is
