This Plate looks to be Civil War has Excelsior,an Eagle holding 2 flags and poles in each talon, and a Cannon Barrel in each talon.
Hunt is 20 minutes long.
The End looks different but i`m not real good with this kind of find any help is cool.
The last picture i put some moisture to see it better.

Very nice, and complete with hook and bar. I grew up in Upstate NY so have a fondness for NY related military items.I found a 1/2 of one of those in North Hebron NY in the late 1980's. Never found the rest of it.

Steve
Thank you Steve
N.Y. Even upstate holds a lot of relics !

That thing is awesome Gary. That's the kind of find we all have in the back of our mind when we're hunting. Big congrats to you! :occasion14:

I bet there's something even better in the field that had 2 inches of liquid cow crap. :tongue3: Best of luck next time out...... and once again, major congrats on that puppy. :notworthy:

Gary Gary Gary! Whoa bud you nailed a good one. Some plates of that era are listed as having silvering applied, but the ones found seem to have lost it. Yours looks great buddy and still has a bit of luster! Outstanding

A dream come TRUE! Well done hooking and landing a real WALL HANGER! She's in beautiful condition. I wonder how it feels to recover such a historic find? Big time congratulations on the find of a lifetime mate! :wav::icon_salut:

Sitting around the picnic table of a local burger joint with a couple farmers, when this strong whiff of a freshly sprayed field assaulted our noses. I said that's "Oh that's pretty ripe, farmer replied -"Oh the smell of money".:laughing7:

Post a pic up Gary once you have it straightened up-well that's if you do. Congrats again on the beauty.

Very cool belt plate
Congrats
