Hey all, been extremely busy with work these days but managed to get out on wednesday to a spot I've been eyeballing on a map from 1905. Today the land is owned by the county park district and fair game
I hunted for about 4 hours and my detector (and brain) were on overload with signals the entire time. I was also very pleased with how clean it was, it seemed like almost every target I dug was an interesting one. Throw in some silver and my first Indian Head cent ever and I couldn't have asked for more...so what the Mercs I found were two of the worst I've ever seen I had a blast
Here's the pick of the litter:
And my first ever IH:
Does this look familiar to anyone out there? Native American token of some sort? I'm clueless...
And this little guy also has me intrigued..its very tiny only about 1/4-3/8" tall and reads "Virtue Excerptas" It is curved as if it was mounted to something round and has a spot on the back where it looks like a post or pin would've been? It doesn't appear to be aluminum or silver?
Also this button didn't appear to be very old to me (I was thinking early 1900s) but I would love to know more about it:
Thanks for looking folks and HH!
Chris
