Hello to all, i am new to this and i was wondering how do you do it? what do you say to the tellers? and usually how much do you ask for? Thanks for the advise.
Hello and welcome CHIEF PIRATE. It's easy just goto the bank and ask for rolls or a box of the coins. Heres a good bit of starter info http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,54523.0.html just remember let the teller know you are a coin collector and that you go through a lot of coins. Its good to have an account with a few banks because your going to need to unload all your rejects and most banks will charge a % of total for taking loose change. Your best bet is going to be halves. If you can, buy every one of them and do not forget to ask for large dollars. They are a hard find but they are still out there. I personally have only been doing this for a week now and have already hit 30 banks looking for silver halves and dollars. I got with a bank that had a horde of 310.00 worth and I ended up with a 131 silvers including a 64 90% half and a franklin half. I must admit that was very luck of me and not a regular occurrence. Keep cracking at it you can only gain if you play it right. Just remember search every bank you can. I am in the habit of stopping at every bank on the way to were ever I go just in case. Good luck I'm sure you will enjoy this as much as I do.
