Hello all this is my first post as a newbie. I recently was forced to retire due to back injuries and am limited to walking only for exercise and so I decided to take up metal detection since I usually walk the beach here in San Diego. I have been out only a few times but have managed to find many pull tabs, a silver button and about 2 dollars in coins. While this is not much I am not complaining as I can only walk for short periods but the enjoyment I get from using the detector helps me for a time to forget the pain. I can say the 505 has done all right for me. I was able to find a dime at about 10 inches deep in the sand with it. Any way just wanted to say hello and hope to find more as I learn more about my machine thanks to all for your posts I find them enjoyable and educational. Thanks Ted

thanks guys for all the posts. I can say I am definitely hooked on detecting. Heck I even dreamed about it last night. While my back hurts all the time I can go about and hour before I have to stop due to pain. But hey I'm not complaining, have a great wife, bills are paid and I am still above ground. So while the pain can make life interesting it hasn't been able to stop me from trying to enjoy life. Before I got the detector I stayed home alot and did very little, since I got the detector I try to get out at least every other day and am now research on the net for places to go near by. Anyway good hunting to all and may all your finds be good ones. Ted
