New to gold panning

Iv been a member of this site for awhile and have collected antiques for a long time. I don't know why but I thought I might try gold panning in my area even know I can barely handle my current hobby. I haven't decided if I am going to try gold panning yet but does anyone have any tips in case I do.

If you have a hobbytown USA close by they carry the garrett pan kits and they have single pans as well but all the singles I've seen there are the small finishing pans. I think I've seen a white's pan as well but not sure on that. HH
