All Treasure Hunting
I just got my first metal detector, I know that I went the cheap rout and really don't expect to find a lot of great things just yet but I was looking for a little help. I purchased the metal detector off of e-bay, all it says is VLF. I know from reading a few things that all this means is very low frequency but I have no idea where to look on the thing to find a brand name so that I can look for an owners manual. If anyone would have some advice it would be much appreciated. Also, I was wondering if the machine should give a solid continuous sound when held over a hit. This thing will beep but if I leave it over the object it just does nothing until I swing back and forth over it?

Post a pic or two and someone may be able to give you some info. And yes, it's normal for the machine to stop making noise if you stop moving it, since motion is needed. But there may be a no motion mode on it. Again, post a pic and we may be able to give you more info

Cant read the screen. What does it say on top near the meter?

Ok that didn't work that well. I am uploading some from my camera.

Thank you I had attempted contacting the seller for information but have not heard anything back from them yet. I was initially under the impression that it was a bounty hunter, but that just shows me how in-experienced I am in this lol. Now that I have an idea of what kind that it is I will look up the specs on it and hope that I didn't pay too much for it. Thank you again for your help.

Radio shack sold bounty hunters, and the end of the manual says Bounty hunter, so you were told correctly
