Why wouldn't you keep silver-rimmed coins, let alone S coins. And especially bens? They look so different and old Pre-64's.

Anyways, I would be dying over 3 coins a box average. So far, doe 2014, my average is 1.13 coins per box. That's with 203 boxes, 212 40%, and 17 90%. And this was helped out a lot by a 52 silver box I got a few weeks ago. My average will drop again this week though, so far @ 18 boxes with 3 coins. 10 More boxes today, so hopefully things turn around lol.

Its ok, many of us employ the "catch and release" technique. Very noble of you!

And I thought 70s weren't silver :BangHead: Remember two that I saw in there AHHHHHH :sadsmiley: also I remember ALOT of Franklins in there. This is what I get for doing things without thorough research :sadsmiley:

Anyways:
A 64 and two 67s

Have 150 in dimes and 1000 in halves coming from the same bank.

Any tips and is 3 to a box a good sign.

Not all halves from the 70s are silver. Just from 1970 and those are very uncommon to find.
So...you kept coins from the 60s but threw back coins older than that??

Were they Franklins, or these?

No just deposited them, and I meant from 1970:sadsmiley:

portrait of franklin I don't remember seeing those what are they?

So you got a Box full of franklins but no bicentennials. Seems legit

Just remembered the franklins when I posted and it wasn't full of them just like 5-7

5-7 Franklins and 2 1970's? Where did you deposit this box if you dont mind me asking?

This thread is hilarous! Wheres my popcorn, I cant find the button?!?:pot-of-gold: well this kinda looks like a cheeseburger, so ill go with that.

Always jump headfirst off a cliff before looking, is the best way, and the american way!

I think what Big Disco (who is a charter member AND a junior member, no less!) is saying is that back in the 1970's, he/she was really into Disco music, and liked all things round, like disco records and … 50 cent coins. But NOT Ben Franklin — so 18th century! That's why Big Disco threw back all of the silver Franklin halves.

But no worries — they were deposited in my bank, and I'll be going to pick them up later today!

Dang! I went to my bank and all I got were some 64 kennedies and some 65+ ones!

Well, here's a picture of what I didn't find:
