Detector(s) used
Ace 250, White's DFX
Hello I am new to the TH hobby and I love it. I asked for a metal detector for Mothers day and my husband got me one. Yeah. It is a garrett 250 which is a good starter. Here are my finds for my first year of use. This is my first winter so I will be doing some research and checking sites to hunt for next year. I'm hooked now. I really like digging and finding relics and bits of history.

2007 finds

Thanks. I was kind of down in the dumps till I found the class ring. and Then I found two IH at differnt locations. so have to go back to them and search some more. I have learned more about my town in the last 3 months then I ever did my whole life. Quite intersting. And I really hated history all my life but as I get older it is kind of neat to learn about now that I don't have to know the answers for a test . LOL I am researching the old town in my area and going to hit it this spring I hope. Providing I can get permision from the residents that live there now.

very true the things you learn sometimes you dont want to know
like me for instance
i found a park with asbestos in the ground
also my backyard was a junk yard (for real)
but i was the same way i HATED history now i am consumed by it
good grubs 8)

Welcome to T-Net, Dakotama. Looks like you are hitting some hot spots and finding a good assortment of everything. Congrats on your finds, were you able to locate the owner of the ring? Those old shotgun brass can be interesting too, here's the site to learn more about them... http://members.shaw.ca/cartridge-corner/shotgun.htm
Love that old jug and those tokens.

Thanks for the link. I was hoping to identify some of the shotgun shells. I have an area that Lincoln grew up in that is nearby and found a couple there that I need to date. Also trying to date the area around my home from the brass. Yes I know who the class ring belongs to. I called him and he hung up on me so I guess he doesn't want it. I found it under the cedar tree that the ice storm took out. It was in front of my parents house all these years. We use to be really good friends I don't know what happened but he is flipped out now.

Very nice finds! I love those old tokens!

Cheers and HH,
Bman
