West Jersey Detecting
Gold Member
Last week White's announced the newest detector to their line, the TDI SL. Smaller and lighter than the TDI and the TDI Pro, the SL comes with either the standard 12 inch "Spider" coil, or the smaller 7.5 inch coil.
Users of the SL are reporting that the SL boasts a steadier threshold than its older cousins, making it a bit more stable to work with.
The SL comes with the standard White's NiMH rechargeable battery pack as well as the accessory AA battery pack, which gives 5-6 hours of detecting time. The NiMH battery pack also makes the TDI SL it safe for overseas travel.
It has basically the same features as the TDI although it only has one battery indicator light.

Although I have not seen the new SL, I am being told that the TDI pro has a little more kick, due to the higher voltage LIon batteries.
At a retail price of $1299, it is $400 less than the TDI pro, making it a great value for relic hunters!
