I hit this small yard last night for about an hour and then finished it up today for a couple hours. Found 25 wheats starting from 1919, and couldn't seem to get a silver coin. Finally on the edge of the lot I was pleasantly surprised to see this 1899 Barber Quarter show itself. She's a little worn but my oldest barber quarter nonetheless. Also found a sterling silver bracelet and an older dog i.d. tag, both with the name Flatland, must have been owners of the house at one time. I found a button that I would like someone to I.D. for me if possible. Has the letters A L A, and looks military (I think I am seeing plane propeller blades at the top and bottom)? Also found a lead soldier and a small item that says The Acme Thunderer, made in England. Anyone know what this is? Also found clad including a couple Jefferson nickles dated 1936 & 1946. Really surprised that I couldn't find more silver with all of those wheats, but not complaining.

Looks like a great site, I'd got back, hunt slower and dig all the iffy signals. Love the lead solider!

Great job Mark, the barber is awesome but I gotta admit I like the pin with the A.L.A. on it, can't wait for somebody here to ID it. I think ya gave me the itch to try again tomarrow lol

WH: Nice digs....great Barber quarter. Your Acme Thunderer is the mouthpiece to a whistle, I believe. But that army guy takes the cake.

Keep digging!

I think you are right, Michiganne. Never thought of that and it makes sense! Sorry about the blurry pics, maybe I can update these so everyone can see a couple of these better. Already have the barber in a holder.
