Yoooooo, folks, Colonial KirkPA, Colonial Silver Zeus and I got out to a new site today. I had been researching this particular site for quite a while recently, which I happened to have FINISHED earlier last week. :headbang: I instantly told Zeus and KirkPA about the finished project, and we proceeded to go on with the next metal datecting process: PERMISSION MISSION, BABY!!!! :smileinbox: :smileinbox: I was very glad to hear that Zeus secured permission Saturday morning; Zeus, you are killer at getting permission, my great unc!!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: Folks, my uncle, bro, and I make a killer team. We all have a say in the project, which limits one guy to take credit for all of the work.

The day started off quite slow, with only one button and a few pieces of trash to show for. It didn't take long, folks, for Zeus to yell out a great target. :icon_salut: Well, to make a long metal datecting story short, I was sweeping along with the usual John Walter-like sweeps, when I was instantly startled with an "M" on "Dime" reading on my White's XL Pro 6000. I instantly dug out some doyt (dirt), and was greeted with that green disc in the hole. I stood up, set my headphones down softly, and yelled out, "COIN...COPPA...COPPA...COIN...COIN!!!!!!!" :wav: After several, and I mean several, handshakes, Zeus said, "Kyle, it is a Liberty Cap!!!!!" Folks, this is my first Liberty Cap coppa of any kind. :blob1: I later found 3 more buttons and a suuuuuuuuuper old spoon handle. The spoon handle has a nice design on it.

We later talked to the cordial, and I mean suuuuuuuuuper cordial, landowner, who was thrilled for our great recoveries. :notworthy: Folks, the landowner and his suuuuuuuuuper sweet wife invited us back for a lifetime! :notworthy:

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and may all of your sweeps be Flowing Hair half dollars! The Three Datectateers will be heading back next week!

P.S. Oh, after my Liberty Cap "largie," Zeus was yelling out another suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper awesome target!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta love the nice landowners. Congrats on your super ra-search (as always) and on that beautiful liberty cap also. I tip my liberty cap to you on such a fine recovery Kyle. :notworthy: :headbang: :occasion18:

Thanks, Rob, for the reply. How have you and your buddy been doing lately?

Kyle
Work and gas prices have been holding me down a little Kyle. Most of the sites I've been hunting are about an hour from my house and gas is really starting to add up. The trips are getting fewer anf farther between. I've got to get a better site closer to home. Steve has been busy too. The past 2 or three weekends have been devoted to putting a deck on his house so the detector took a back seat for a while. We're hoping to get out again soon. Looks like you gibbons are finding enough for all of us though. ;D

Another beautiful copper saved. Liberty Cap does not come along very often :o Those large coppers are the best!!!!! I like the buttons too. They look to be 1700's vintage. Congrats on a beauty!

Thanks, Ed, for the reply. This is my first Liberty Cap, but I have seen others around me find them over the past 1.5 years of serious Colonial hunting. The buttons all gave off "P" on "Penny" readings on my meter. Actually, the button with the shank intact was found in the same exact hole as the large cent.

Hey Zoyboy. Congrats on yours too. This was my second, but first that I could read the date. Yours looks to be in really great shape. Congrats...Lance

Lance, thank you for the reply. Your Liberty Cap gave me the fever to find one, too!

I love reading your articles in the magazine; you and your brother have had many, many great hunts together!

Rob, I have faith in you once you fellers get back on the full detecting schedule again! You will find many more coppas this year, buddy!

Oh, folks, I forgot to mention that, in just about every hole, we were digging up handfuls of pottery. I can just picture John Walter examining each one and saying, "I'll be damned, another 1700s non-glazed pottery shard. I'll be damned!" :D :D :D

Zeus, does that drool cup have any jib-like tobacca in it? OOOOF :D What a character that feller was. :D

Folks, I don't think we gave Colonial KirkPA enough credit today for participating in this great hobby. He worked a 12-hour shift with nothing to eat, and still had suuuuuuuuuuper amounts of energy during the day. He later came home, and got two hours of sleep, waking up about an hour ago. When the feller woke up, he said, "Non-glazed 1700s. Glazed 1800s." :D What a character, folks, what a character :D

No jibjuice. Just spit.

Zeus, do you remember the tobacca dripping down his jib while talking to us a few years ago? :D Folks, this feller was loaded up with tobacca in that jib of his. :D

That Kirk is a tough fella for sure. I'm glad you didn't feed him doughnuts though. I remember what happened last time he ate a box full and then went MDing. Yuck. :o ;D

How can I forget. I could barely look at the guy. Not only was he not a nice dude but his jib gasket needed changed due to dryrot or something. Zeus

Doug, right after getting off of his 12-hour shift, I got a call from him on the way home. He said, "Kyle, I am coming over. Get ready for an extreme Colonial fever today, Lemony Snicket!"

Yeah that Kirk proved that he is a Colonial era warrior. If I detected today after having little sleep I probably would have curled up in the freshly planted crops and caught up with some badly needed Z's. Zeus

Well done! You guys are kicking some Serious MDing Buttocks there!

Half Reales and Old Coppers. Can't get much better than that.

The Iron Brigade and the Zoy/Kirk/Zeus team should Co-Author a book. ;D Everyone would have a copy on their shelves. And we'd have a little money for Gas-O-Line as a result. :D

Keep the Fever HIGH.

Buck, thanks for the reply, buddy! Heck, if the zoy/kirk/zeus team wrote a book, it would be a #1 best seller...in my own feeble metal datecting mind. :D I can only dream of kicking buttocks like you fellers do.

As always, my fever is suuuuuuuuuuper high!

YOOOOOOOOOOO, Derek Feller Dude, thanks for the reply, buddy! I am still suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper excited (stated in a Chris Farley-like voice)!!!!! :D :D

I have a great feeling that we haven't even touched the surface of this site. The three Colonial-era coins were found within several feet of one another, and gave off beautiful signals. Next Sunday can't come any sooner! :D

That USA button is just OUTSTANDING. Usually, those buttons would be worthy of a "Best Of" plaque!!!!!!!   You earned all of your great finds through patience and persistence, my good buddy from the Upstate of NY! :icon_sunny:

Brother Colonial Zoy,

Hey, brother, your RESEARCH rocks!!! Seriously, you and Zeus had one hell of a day!

That Liberty Cap is something that any coppa-seeking dude would cherish! Since these coins were found in a small area, I have a feeling that there should be some more goodies waiting for our coils.

Oh, this landowner is probably the nicest yet!!!

Kirk :coffee2:
