It has been a while since I have posted on here, I have been finding a few things, but I just have'nt been posting them. This past Saturday I hunted a new site for about two hours and found five three ring 69's, a 69 round ball, some shot bullets, an eagle button, and six strange bullets I have never seen before. They calibrated out at 11mm, if anyone knows what they are please :help: let me know. I'm not sure if it was a campsite or part of the battle that went through my area. I will be going back soon, ecspecialy since it is only about three or four miles from my house!
Thanks for looking
Matt

UPDATED NEW PICTURES!!

Note-The picture with the Ringtail Sharps and Tear drop are for size reference only. Sorry new pictures are not the best. :BangHead:

That is what I was thinking to, at least the Ringtail Sharps I dug had raised rings and they are bigger.

Re: New site produces some odd Civil War bullets!

11 mm is close to a 45 caliber and your regular tie base ringtails are .58 caliber, right? the only 45 caliber sharps variant I can find in my books is M&m 194 - 198

Picture is from Sgt Riker's website sgtriker.com (thanks)

I removed my post as asked by another Tnet member, but I do think they are different than any bullets in my book, two rings with a tie ring base, like nothing I've seen. They should be examined by one of the bullet experts out there, Megs Brainard the Trans-Mississippi bullet nut would be a good start. I'd love to know more about these bullets. They are not sharps bullets, sharps have 3 square raised rings, a rare type has 4, yours have two rounded rings. Very exciting bullets, hope you find more. HH

why would someone ask you to remove your post? it wasn't rude, condescending, etc.? Was it because they thought your ID was wrong? you have just as much right to post your opinion of these bullets as they do

im in agreement they are not ringtail sharps or slanting breech sharps.. the rings don't look like any sharps variant ive ever seen

I was asked to remove my posts because of the GPS info, I deleted both my post but now I think he wanted me to remove only the one with the GPS info.
