Today I got time to hunt a brand new site, for me. ;D
They call it "Confederate Ridge" because it is a ridgeline
where the Confederate set up near Antietam on their
way to Gettysburg.
I know that the site has been hunted since the late 70's.
But it is a HUGE area!
To my surprise, the very first find was an Eagle button
with a "D" on his chest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's right, Dragoon!
That was all I needed to have a great day, but there
was more to come.
Two Gardners
Three ringer cut in half long ways
Enfield cone protector
Trace Chain
Roundball... Pacman style
Couple of odd lead pieces
Percussion cap
And Surprise again! a 1943 War nickel

I had a GREAT time!!!
Can't wait til my gang from CW-ART gets together to
hunt this site!!!

I like the "D" button with just a little gilt peeking through the green. It is a very pretty button.

The carved Minie with the internal air bubble/casting flaw is a cool specimen.

Everything when considered as a whole indicates that you will find some interesting items in your new spot.

I certainly hope more cool finds are to come!
Thanks!

You Dawg!!!....Just couldn't wait ::) Man we've been looking at that place for quite some time and you finally landed permission. The "Dragoon" is awesome Ty,hope there's some more floating around.Your typical Conf. Gardner's are par for the course on this location, must've lost the button when they pushed the Reb's back across the river. All I can say is when are we going, there's gotta be a couple CS plate's for us there somewhere  Again Ty......You Dawg  Beautiful Button Buddy!!!!

Wait???? You mean we got pushed back across the river ??? Hope there was a bridge for us to cross. LOL. Great finds and thank you for sharing. Cogratulations on all your finds.
