Found a nice spot in the stubble today. Lots of trash modern and old. Should be a good spot for next year after the plow. A couple of nice buttons, a few buckles and round balls. 1805 LC and a fugio cent. Still shocked this is my 3rd for the year and second in a week. Too bad the last two I found were not as nice as the one I found in the woods. Also found a copper punch. Not sure of age or if it is even a punch but thought it was kinda cool. Also grabbed a wheat penny a IH and a late 1700's civilian anchor cufflink.if I'm wrong on the cuff please correct me. These fields are not very nice to these coppers. Im starting to miss the soil around cellar holes. Maybe tomorrow ill get back in the woods. Happy hunting.

A good old site and I'd be anxious to get back to it. Kinda frustrating digging Fugio coppers and not being able to ID them because of the condition... but at least you got them. yep, anchor is definitely from a cufflink.

Thanks IP! I definitely want to get back but it's not the stubble that's the problem it's the grass and other weeds. The farmer actually leases this section of fields from another guy who is really hard to get ahold of so the farmer actually got permission for me and It's kind of late in the season to be hitting these fields but the farmer doesn't mind if I go in after he plants. So in the spring ill be a row behind the plow.

Really love those colonial relics. Im fascinated by the history.

Love the history of the find it's not always the amount of money you'll get for it. Congrats

Good bunch of oldies, and a third Fugio...jeepers I just want one.
Could be a nice silver there for you.

Thanks Rick. Would be nice to see some early US silver out of this place. Very possible with it being in the oldest section of town. just got to keep swinging.

Thanks for the comments

Hey buddy those are some fantastic finds. The Cufflink is by far my favorite. Too bad that soil is so hard on the coins. 3 Fugios is something to be proud of bud

Congrats on your third Fugio! And other relic finds and coins!
Hopefully the soil is kinder to the silver you'll be pulling out of there!

Hope you're getting out. Weather is not looking good and we have a few inches on the hill

It's a blizzard here bud. But I'm gonna get myself on a VERY early site next weekend. Early 1600s. We shall see

Early 1600s? I think that blizzard may be freezing your brain. :)

ok closer to mid 1600s. 1630-1675. Though I may be an idiot as we've discussed I am dead on with my info on this site lol. Keep in mind Maine was fairly populated in the 1600s starting in 1607 up until about 1675 when the natives torched everything. This site is pretty interesting and by far the densest population for that time frame. Don't you have some rare coins or buttons to dust or something? Lol
