new Season of Diggers Monday

My big gripe with the show is their made up lingo. Calling their finds "juice" and "nectar" is just plain stupid. And no one up here in New England calls colonial finds "cologne". A "found" is another really annoying one. It's a cellar hole (or a foundation, if you live outside of N.E.). Use the correct lingo, guys.

A guy asked me if I find any "civ" while metal detecting. I have to admit, I kind of wanted to slap him in the face :laughing7:

Also, civil war artifacts... in new Hampshire???

I'm pretty sure there were some big battles in NH when the CSA invaded!

yeah the Archie's figured it was the stable area since his spot seemed to be at the center of everyone's finds

Leave KG alone. He did his best. It's not his fault that he was in the stable!!!! :dontknow:

In that case it sames half my sites are stable areas :).

I dislike the hunting style of the two guys that star in the show. I don’t like their banter or the cheesy acting when one of them finds horse tack or a flat button. With that said, I had to DVR last night’s show filmed here in Westchester County, New York, just five-miles from my home.

The show starts at a “castle,” located in Tarrytown, NY, which was built in 1897. Today, it is a very expensive Hotel and restaurant Castle Hotel and Spa > Home If the boys had known to go across the street from the castle - to the huge sports field and woods where the Colonial and British camped and actually traded fire, they may have done much better. Of course, the area has been hit pretty hard.

Their next stop was the Van Tassel House, also in Tarrytown Van Tassel Family History Homepage - Old Families of Westchester - Van Tassel Not a real good place either because the woods around the house are trashy, and folks have been detecting that area to death since the 1960s. As we all know however, nobody gets it all.

Too bad they did not consult local detectors like myself, as we could have shown them much more productive areas. Maybe they just wanted a trip to New York, and a nice Castle to stay in. Anyway, the show was terrible as I expected it would be, but these guys have a TV show and lots of folks watch it, so maybe I just have terrible taste.

I think this years shows are more serious.
So far of the 4 episodes that aired,
they are more calmed down.
They did a little yelling but haven't swung from any trees or tried to do cartwheels yet index.png

They did a show in New Orleans. They were finding Mardi Gras doubloons and calling them Mardi Gras tokens. My blood pressure was rising so high that I thought I was watching a Saints game! :violent1:

It would have been easy enough to ask the property owner "Hey, what are these big round things with no number on them that we keep finding? I mean, we are doing a TV show, we probably ought to get the terminology correct."

Pfft. Yankees... :laughing7:

But Jeff like the other metal detector shows they find a dime they go crazy they find a rusty metal they go crazy .. Now they have a new one on youtube silver something.. If she finds a rusty something it is just wonderful i don't know how all of you can watch all these junk shows..

well I don't watch youtube, with the exception of Music occasionally of course.
I hate Motion sickness

and Diggers is the only Detector show left on tv.

The copy cats (Thieves) shows never made it past the first year or 2,
no matter who they hired
