i just read in the lexington herald leader newspaper ,which is out of lexington, ky, that some of the new president dollars does not have the in god we trust on the side of the dollars.
im going out and buying me a few rolls in a few minutes. supposedely the ones found so far are only from the philly mint .
some are reportedely selling for over $50 already.
ive bought a few, but all of them had in god we trust on it...

There is a guy on ebay selling errors for over $400. He says his errors are the rare ones made by the Denver mint. Isn't the mintmark on the edge also? If it is, how can he say that his are from the Denver mint if there isn't a mintmark? Just curious.

The coins are MOSTLY being found in Florida, from the Jacksonville Federal Reserve Bank.

I am sure they have all been bought up by now though.

They are being found in the Philly rolls, so that is why they are called Philly coins even though they don't have the mintmark.

You can find all the information about these coins here:

I know of at least one that was found here in Indiana. A friend of mine brought some coins over last night for me to look at and he had a half open roll of them. There was one "Plain edge" inside of it and he claimed he had an entire roll of them at home that were all plain edge's... I don't think I would pay too much for one at the moment, but ya never know, it may be the best decision you ever made...

Also, I'm looking at one now and the only place I see a mint mark is on the edge, so that guy on ebay claiming his are from the Denver mint, is probably trying to pull a fast one...
Have a great day, Leon...

Just a note of caution here; human nature being what it is, I'm thinking there just wouldn't be anyone who would try to remove the writing on the edge of some of them and try to pass it off as a genuine misprint...would he??????? NNAAAAHHHHH!

Good point. I wonder how deep the inscription is, and how far down you'd have to sand it. It'd also be pretty tough to get it polished well enough...but you never know....

Isn't that illegal?
