I am not familiar with that type. Perhaps one of the southern guys will chime in.

Nice gift for sure! It sure is long. Do you know where it came from?

I wish I could see it a little closer... I wanna say "Scottsbluff I or Scottsbluff II" but the base is throwing me off.

It is very nice !!!! Was it found by the giver ?

Doesn't look like any type I have ever seen and I have never heard of the type you mentioned. Are you 100% sure it's not a repro?

I just could not find that stem and base with that blade!

Yessir, that sure has some nice flaking, but that base just doesn't seem right on that piece at all.

I have a Pre-Columbian point that is very similar. The tag says Delaware Co. Oklahoma . Yes, it has great patination. It has stumped me. I don't think he found it, but he has had it in his collection. It is not perfect. A little off center.

Can you post some more photo's of the base and a side view of the point. That's a good size blade:icon_thumleft: Welcome to Tnet:hello:

Let me show the variety of Maya points that I have. Note the variety of styles. Interesting!

so where did you get your collection?

The base is similar to a Neosho blade but they are usually beveled on opposite sides. Neosho blades are found in OK.

My Maya collection has taken me 30 years to collect.

The Neosho blades have more of a turkey tail point look on the base JMO

I hate to ask but can we get a photo of the whole point at the edge view, from tip to end. I also wont to ask is there any grinding on the flare part of the base.

Rock, the base for my collection came from a Methodist missionary who worked in Belize during 1950s and 60s. The rest was acquired during the 1990s.

As per your request. The base is not ground, but is flaked.

Just talked with guy who gave me the point. The point is from Delaware County Oklahoma, home of Mack Tussinger. Hhhhmmmmmmm, I wonder if this piece has an affiliation with him? I do have one of his pieces, but it is of different material.
