Went out with a buddy of mine searching for a 1700’s cellar hole and barn. The walk was on a well worn cart path that’s been there for years, very rocky and hilly which made walking “unpleasant” . The bugs were waiting for us, they formed into squadrons and attacked in waves all day, I swear to god I had the same noseeum buzzing between my eyes all day. I hate those things and can’t wait for the first frost to kill those little monsters...... anyway, we detected are way in, not finding much, the occasional wheat, 3 Merry Widows tin, musket ball, flat button and a horse rosette. We decided to leave and I was detecting the trail out when I got my best signal of the day on my Nox , a nice 30-31 at 6” and out popped a beautiful barber quarter (1898) with the rare O mint mark, checked the hole and out rolled a 1904 (Philly) barber dime. Both coins are in pretty good shape, so I’m happy-happy.
