Ended up knocking on a gigantic farm today, the old guy said yes, but we pounded this place for years. I only had about an hour and managed a couple old flat buttons from the field.
Any help ID ing this little button would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks
Enjoy the pix

British Royal Navy Commissioned Officer button 1812-1825.

Looks very promising Brad. What does that say in the brick?

Thanks

Thank you sir, your a gentleman and great button ID er. I really appreciate that.

You're very welcome. Was easy, I have a very good reference material for this era of British Navy button. Someone I didn't even know very well several years back was nice enough to photo copy many pages from his material, so I figure I can at least open it when a button gets posted... even yours! ;)

Congrats on eking those out on a pounded site Brad. :occasion14: I like buttons, but I am no expert, sorry no help here

Ah ha! I was right on the ID!!! Lol.

Great finds again Brad!

Very cool how they laid the date in the darker brick in that gable.

Sorry no ID but IMO Flat Buttons are ALWAYS a welcome find.

The Anchor def, puts me in the mind of Military .

Nice find...like that button!

Very very nice button! Nice to have knowledgeable people on this forum to id relics like that. Iron Patch along with some others here are a wealth of info and I very much appreciate the education they've given me over the last few years! Big congrats on a great military find!

Great ID, great button and great building. Love that date man. Hopefully they left a few more goodies for you bud

Nice stuff treb, and I love the date-in-brick, that's really cool.

I figured you would know, thanks

The Swedes were known for this, using the ballast from decommissioned ships, those bricks around my area are known as "blue brick" They would use them for nice designs throughout the exterior walls of the house.

Thanks buddy, we will find out, I only have approximately 6000 acres left to hunt, I wonder if anyone missed anything? Haaaaaaaaaaaaa lol I have come to believe that farmers and crop workers have dropped a few coins randomly all over farms.

Nice stuff treb, and I love the date-in-brick, that's really cool.
I have seen it allot here in South Jersey. The backmark on the Navy button has "treble gilt" and something that ends with a H (about 4 or five letters?)

Nice collection of early buttons Treb, particularly the British naval officer variant. Based on the age of that brick, certainly a promising site.
Maybe I'll find some earlier military buttons here too? Thanks
