New Newbie

Thanks, Dragonscout..!

It will be interesting indeed. Especially in the Balkan region where there were many wars and occupiers for centuries, starting from the Roman Empire to the Ottoman Empire and so on. I've dreamt of going there with a metal detector for decades. I recently learned that there were/are several gold mines in Albania & Kosovo also. I'm not sure as to their metal detecting laws so I'll have to check into it, but I do know that there were a couple of Italian metal-detecting guys there several years ago and they weren't bothered by authorities.

I will definitely check every part of this site. It's a treasure in itself, and there are many kind and knowledgeable folks here. I am glad I got lost in the internet world and found myself here. Now, I'm afraid to close the page for fear it'll disappear...lol.

Once I pick the machine, either XP Deus or the Equinox 800-still haven't decided which one to go with, I'll have a few months to get familiar with it while waiting for spring to arrive, and off I'll go into treasure hunting adventures. I will post pics of whatever interesting stuff I find.

Haha..! That is so funny. Loco Digger.

Thanks for the laugh..!

Welcome from Corsicana, Texas!

Deus is definitely lighter & will collapse down easily for traveling. You can even buy a plastic case for transporting the xp. Equinox 800 is light though but it does feel nose heavy. Both machines are great detectors. My buddy bought the Equinox 800 & is really enjoying using it. You will not go wrong with either machine.
