Hi all .
Just thought I'd say hello as I've been a long time lurker .
Played around with an old whites coinmaster for a while to be sure this wasn't a passing intrest . Didn't see the point in investing a lot of money in a fancy detector if I was going to be bored with it after a few months .
Well I had more and more fun with each outing so took the plunge .
Got an awesome deal on a used DFX ( had been looking at Whites XLT , MXT & DFX models ) .
Came in this am and already finding intresting things in my yard I'd missed with my older whites , including my first wheat cent ;D ( 1947 s )
Enough to make this novice do a happy dance !
( probably will pass out if I find anything of value ::) )
HH everyone !!!!

Hi, Silver. I'm glad you took the plunge in making a post and buying a detector. :)

You'll have alot of great hunts with that DFX. That's what I use, and I find metal everytime!!....... ;D ;D ;D

Welcome aboard, Silver

This is the best site for metal detecting/treasure hunting on the net. I was a long time lurker before I joined too. Glad your with us. We look forward to seeing your great finds.

Welcome!
I think to enjoy this hobby you need to have an interest first. Then, a good quality detector like you have will make it even more enjoyable.
Good luck!

Silver,

welcome to the board.

Hope to be seeing some of your finds with
that new detector.

Sill carry my "Coinmaster" in the van, just in
case.

have a good un.........

You have a very good machine there in the DFX. Learning it won't take long and soon you will be playing with all the programs. Many new hunters start out with a discount detector that is not reliable nor a confidence builder so they give up the hobby.

Good Luck and enjoy the finds.

Thankyou all for the friendly welcome ;D

I know I've a lot to learn with my new machine .
Wow ! Is it ever different than the old coinmaster .
Fun and challenging .
It's going to be a blast learning how to run a DFX !
Found a Hotwheels before the light gave out . 1984 Fiero ;D
Definately can tell the difference between the two machines as to finds . Less trash digs and more 'fun' finds with the new machine .
Soon my yard will be free of metal ;D LOL ;D

welcome aboard! that dfx is a top notch machine! you should find a lot with it once you learn it. congrats!!

Hi Silver

I was a lurker too for almost 6 years I just registered a few weeks ago. Congrats on your new detector I'm sure it will bring you many great finds.

Silver, welcome to the forum and too the hobby..... Pray and trust that you will have many great finds... Keep us posted.

God bless
Peter

I joined not more than 10 minutes ago. I've had 2 different MD, but to tell the truth have never really used them to their fullest. Partly because I don't know where to go in my area. I'm on the central coast of Calif, and from I've heard from seeing posts on different sites, MD is almost banned on all the beaches, esp from Pt Sal to Pt Conception (military)

So my MD sits in garage finding more dust than treasure
