Yes sir! Josh Fisher Abt will be running the Showdown.
I am very pleased about that as well as having Rob Kreiger running the Carib. Rob worked with Kane aboard Magruder for a long time.
Now if I can get Sampson over here to complete the set, I'll be happy(er).

Ahhhh yes! Must be Taffi's boy? Remember when she would take the little toddler out behind (Chuck's Steak House?) at night to search for 1715 Spanish silver. Top-of-the-line detector back then too heavy, boy had to use a smaller model Fisher detector. Pays to bring up a child recovering Spanish silver (almost from the cradle).

Cheap, handy and pretty effective - Nokta Macro Pulse Dive - Kellyco Inc - 189 USD each (I love these things.)

Why should anybody listen to you? LOL

I bought one of those Nokta things last year, but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

That he is...he's been at this a long, long time and while I have had good captains in the past, I believe that this is going to be the best year to date for our little crew!

Back then, detector Josh used on 1715 beach, probable only $300 or less (minus kit) from Kellyco at the time.

Curious now who got the silver pie cutter/crimper former Carib Captain days your crew found (before cleaned photo).

The State of Florida snagged it for their collection. That year we ended up giving the State 33% of what we found, including that 4 coin clump. That was painful. The agreement with the State says that they can take up to 20% of what is found on Each Wrecksite. The amount that any particular subcontracted treasure finder finds is not the issue. If everything that we found was something that the State wanted to have and the total added up to 20% of the total wrecksite finds, they could take it all. After investigating, I find that I understand why and that I have no reason to bitch about it, but it stung.

I thought (suspected) the state probably (most likely) would want the silver pie cutter tool. Was waiting to see if Spain entered in the mix. Have your other finds from the same hole (rock with silver coin, more Spanish silver, unidentified items).

I would not agree... especially "hands down"....

JW Pulse with proper setup would / which has been and is... rated number one.

You want "cheaper" then go that route... you want the top of the line industry standard "working" detctor... then JW.

Hello colleague. The metal detectors with which I dive underwater are Minelab Excalibur II and Aquapulse AQ 1B. On land I recommend the Minelab Equinox 800.

I don't know much about this stuff but I do have an opinion:

Expensive and very sensitive -what pretty much everyone on the 1715 Fleet uses as The Deep Seeking detector - AquaPulse AQ1b with an 8 or 10 inch coil. A 15" coil will find deeper targets, but you may well find that if you are not under a dig boat, you may well not be able to dig as deep as the detector will 'see'. From Kellyco, Inc - about 1600 USD barebones with a charger, bonephone and coil, but they are out of stock as of April 24, 2022.

The best assistant for me when diving with AQ 1B regardless of the coil is the underwater scooter.
