Hello everybody, new member here checking in from central NY. I have been detecting about 3 months now, so go easy on me. I may be pretty green, but I have already made some pretty good finds in my area, which has a lot of history. I got into detecting kind of by accident, and now I'm hooked after finding 2 standing liberty quarters in my 3rd day of searching. I have been lurking here for a few days, and decided to sign up and say hello!

Welcome from White Plains, New York! Two Stander's in one day is Outstanding - Congratulations!:headbang:

Thanks Terry! They were only about 25 to 30 feet apart too, one is in beautiful condition, dated 1917, the other is so badly worn, that no date is visible unfortunately. Here's pics of the 1917

Welcome to treasure hunting and to the forum from the back hills of northeastern Oregon! You are off to a great start with the two standing liberty quarters!

Finally popped my first IHP the other day! Thanks for welcoming me to the group, I just hope I will be able to contribute when I can. I did however score a huge permission from a local farmer, land that's never been detected and has been owned by his family for multiple generations. It's huge though, 97 acre of hay fields, pasture's and corn fields with 13 old homestead foundations in the woods dating back to the 1730's. It also happens to be one the oldest farms in my area. So you know I'm really chomping at the bit to get on it, but it's so much land to cover, it might keep me busy for the rest of my life.. Planning my attack on google earth right now, I'm gonna hit it tomorrow, wish me luck folks!
