Hello fellow detectorist.

New member here from Canada. I bought my first metal detector last week. I always wanted one and took the plunge for a Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 when I saw it on sale for $99. I figure I will upgrade at a later date if the hobby sticks and I think it will. I read a lot here and other places on the web before even opening the detector and it was a great help. I already found two objects in my yard. A toy car and a nail.:headbang: Can't wait til spring to hit up a few local spots. With permission of course 8-)

Anyone ever MD at their local ski hill? MD in the snow?

Anyway, looking forward to meeting everyone here and posting about my finds.

Cheers,
Michael

Welcome, and there is many Canadians on this site, and we all do find some pretty good stuff. 8-) The one thing is patience, if you don't have em, acquire some. :) Let the finds inspire you, but know that they don't come to you just because you bought a detector, you have to put in the work. Part of the work is getting out there to hunt, but the biggest part is finding locations that actually have something to find. Most probably give up this hobby because they think buying the detector is the biggest part, and that is far from it.

Wel-come aboard ... :icon_thumright:

Thanks. I see how it will require patience. Second day not so great. Two pieces of scrap aluminum and three pull tabs, but hey, digging pull tabs all day beats working.

Getting better. Five pennies! 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981.

Wilcome.PNG When hunting ski lodges, be sure to check where ever people take off their gloves.

Thank you. Today I found an old key, knife, clad, and tin cans. I love it!

Thanks all.
