We got this new land last week when we bumped into the landowner whilst he was rabbit hunting. Funny thing is, he is the most anti-detectorist in our area, often going out at night & giving the Hawkers the scare. So talking him around was great news, but we are starting slowly with just 1 grass field - 22 acres with 7 Cows on.

It's never been plough, other than in the Medieval period, so we were not expecting much.

But our 3.5 hours was better than expected.
To get a Roman Coin on unploughed land has never happen to us!

1 Roman Scrappy
1901 Sixpence
Jetton
17th C Token
Buckles
Cool but broken badge with hunting scene
3 Tudor Pot Legs/feet
1754 Farthing
Bits...

The second part of our day is below:

You never found a roman on a unploughed land
i never found one on ploughed:laughing7:

There is a roman in every field! Too bad with the badge, but the spectacle buckle is a nice one!

VERY NICE - AS ALWAYS

It was really the bottom broken buckle I was hoping to be whole. My objective on a non-ploughed field is just to get 1 good buckle, that bottom one would have been it!

WOW! Cool hunt CRUSADER, you all ways get that old stuff. Very nice. HH.....

Wonderful finds!

That's pretty productive hunt off the pasture, how were the depths of the finds?

The 18th C was generally about 8 inches, but the Roman coin seem to be on gravel layer - 3 inches (possible trackway).
