I went to a local spot with a buddy of mine that had some good history today and I found these two there. Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked! The pictures were taking on a cellphone, I'll have some clearer ones up tomorrow! Found a junk ring too with a bunch of clad.

I think your find is awesome. :headbang: Don't let a few on here get you down. I have been hunting for 30 yrs. and I always consider what I have found towards the monies I have spent on this hobby. rule of thumb, the ones that talk smack to you and others here on the forum just take a look at how many posts they have. Usually it's over 5000 and some as here over 11,000. This should tell you and others alike that these posters spend the bulk of their time posting and not hunting. That's why I don't post 30-40 posts a day as I would much rather spend my time treasure hunting than uploading pictures of a single silver coin or a hand full of clad or just to post so some can see their moniker on topics. Your find was awesome and I congratulate you on it and remember the multi posters that are in the high 4-mid 5 digit posts are most likely jealous of your find. Furthermore I will admit that I have been published in the most recent 2010 annual finds magazine right here, yet if you look at my few posts you will indeed see that I raised cain since the editor screwed me out of $150.00 for my cover photos, yet it's all good. I have been away for 2 1/2 weeks hunting over 600 acres of property settled by the French in the 1600's and have made a killing on gold coins. Rest assured this magazine won't see the article or pictures because they won't be allowed to fool me twice on their payment contract. Once again great find and keep huntin!!!!! :hello2:

So we aren't going to see them either? You just made up for your lack of posts with a whole lotta talkin'!

PS... I'd rather be detecting than writing a magazine article and being bitter over not getting paid.

Well thats a load of cock & bull. So your saying I don't hunt enough because I have over 10,000 posts :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:

So then, how many hours have you clocked up this year? (must be way more than me as you have such low postings) :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:

Re: New Jersey Copper & 1753 Spanish 1/2 real

I don't think anyone was getting down on this poster. They simple stated that if you are in it just for the money this may not be the hobby for you. That was the posters opinion not an attack. They were just pointing out that the money out of pocket is not just the cost of your detector. I thought it was pretty harmless.

As far as postings go I don't have 5000 or 11000 but I'm thankful to those posters since they are typically the ones that educate the rest of us. When everyone is writing nice find or congratulations they are adding informative information.

Would I personally rather be hunting then posting...yes. But my detecting is not paying the bills yet so I have a job where I have access to T-Net. I would rather be posting then working so here I am...

Happy hunting everyone!!!!

It's also pretty tough to dig in frozen ground and I have it about 4 months out of the year.

I.P. you should be able to melt all that frozen ground if you are wearing your avatar suit.

I used to but it was too much effort putting the forrest fires out. Really took away from my digging time.

Whole lotta talkin, Well it seems to me all I did was confirm the HIGH posters, BTW not mentioning any names either come out of the woodwork since they feel my post was directed at them. If you want to see what I have been doing you will have to buy the magazine 2010 annual issue.. :laughing7:
