Welcome to Tnet. Metal detecting is a great hobby. Few things to remember. When hunting on public property be NEAT with your digging. Make it look like you were never there. When hunting private property (sometimes the best sites) always get permission. If you want to find old coins, find old spots. There are a number of web sites online that have old maps.
