If that is half it looks more like a stone bowl or mortar. Find the other half.

That is sweet! Not a Budweiser bottle either. Me too, sorry Johnathan. This is defiantly your thread.

Well I went back out for about 30 mins yesterday and picked these up, that dark gray one is killer! Paper thin, not sure what kind it is. It has ears like a hardaway but with a stem? Kinda strange but awesome! That Guilford Yuma would have been nasty tip was broke but still nice. And a beautiful hafted scraper!

It looks like we are hunting similar grounds these days. The white patina and same type lithic. For the one you are unsure about, check stemmed Kirk. I could be way off. If you would like, I have a book you can borrow. If tells all points by rigion and variations of the point.

What is the type of stone on the dark grey one? I found a nice oval knife in that material I believe its the same anyway. And those look super nice. Thanks

It is grey chert . We have all the dull color cherts. I like the purplish chert that we have.

Just grey chert... I think alot of chert comes in differt colors based on the minerals in the soil. But its usually named after the major formation that it came from. Chert in your area would most likley be coastal plains chert. CPC..haha

I have to correct myself. There is an outcrop of chert referred to as gray right near the Georgia South Carolina border along the Savannah River.
