Saying hello from the great state of WI.
The thought of finding something that holds great value, whether monetarily or otherwise, has always entranced me. I don't own a MD but will be making the leap soon enough. I've mostly only ever picked through the old stuff which my family all deems junk when a house is sold or someone passes.
I have some prime areas surrounding my cottage for MD work. One place I'll share is a resort of sorts. It's been in existence since 1915. What is even more interesting is the swimming hole located where the boat dock now is. Apparently it's been a swimming hole long before the resort was ever there. The water level is down so much that the shoreline is now where 6+ feet of water once was. I know the current owner of this place and he's stated that he's never had anyone search the property. He's owned it since the early 70's and his family before that. My guess is someone has done the grounds but not to his knowledge. It's in a fairly remote area but one which was known for heavy bootlegging. Lots of Indian activity in the area as well. Doesn't do me a lot of good until I get a MD and take the time however.
So, that's my story. Hopefully I'll be posting the find of a lifetime but won't hold my breath.
