Metal Detecting
Hello all,

I am new to the forum but have been a detector for many years. I recently moved to Fort Worth, Texas and am seeking sites to detect in this area. I moved here from Ennis, Texas where I have done okay and am still working on some permissions that I'll visit in the near future.

A little about me:
-I am an old-soul
-I have been a musician for over 30 years, mostly finger-style guitar
-I am a Christ-follower
-I have a daughter who loves to go detecting with me (When I upgrade, she gets my previous model. I feel like that's a fair deal since she-don't-pay-no-bills, lol.)
-I enjoy any type of metal detecting that I am able to do but tend to focus on historical relics and coins. I'm not afraid to get a little wet, but I have never nor to I foresee doing any underwater detecting.

Got a quick question. I am looking to upgrade from my Garrett ACE250 soon. It's a terrific model but I'd like to get more performance, especially on deeper digs and more a more accurate pinpoint feature at depth below 6". Instead of asking something as controversial and unanswerable like, "what detector is best?" I'll say this, I have narrowed my search to a choice between the Garrett ProMax or the Minelab Equinox 800. I would welcome any thoughts into the 2 models especially from those that have use both.

Be well all, see you on the next one!

Detecting with your daughter is so much fun! Mine detected with me until she was 16, then it wasn't cool any more. LOL

Thank you all for the warm welcome. We finally got some rain here in Ft. Worth and a relief from the brutal heat so I'm taking to the field this morning to recon some sites.
