Well I picked up a lot of new dirt this year & I must say its paying off the owner is such a cool guy he has so much ground I could never walk it all before the crops get to high! So today I went & checked out one of his fields sitting on the Scioto River it was planted in corn so easy to walk the rows! I found a lot of hard stone 2 celts & a 3/4 grooved axe & I also found a awesome Decatur point I found 21 points mostly broke the big black drill would have been a killer it would of been huge! I'm going out tomorrow to another one of his fields with my son it also sits on the Scioto River!

Wow, that is a killer day! 2 celts and an axe would blow my mind lol. Well done sir and make sure you stay on that guys good side. I have picked up some new ground this year too, nothing like walkin new ground and findin lots of good artifacts. Cheers and congrats from a fellow Ohioan.

Great day for you. As a kid and young man I used to hunt along the Scioto River in southern Franklin Co. & in Pickaway Co. Lots of points and great memories. Keep them coming!

The axe with the deep groove is called a trophy axe. Most of them appear to be unused on the bit so may be a symbol of authority or some such instead of a working tool. Gary

STELLAR!!!! Multi hardstone hunts don't happen too often nowadays!! CONGRATZ.....

I've never seen a 3/4 groove trophy axe, they've all been full groove.

You are the man choo!!!

that place will be producing a heck of a site collection for you I’d bet!

Looks like you found the Field of Dreams!

When you are an old man, you’ll be able to talk about the good old days with a hunt like that.

If you found that much hardstone on one walk, I’d make sure to flip any piece of banded slate you see. There is likely a goodie or two in the topsoil.

your photos are great, they really show off field hunting. I like how they all look planted and glued to the ground with only the top profile visible. the rain washes them clean on top and a blind man could spot them. how i wish i could hunt in the farm land.
