I bought a Coinmaster GT in April and have had a lot of fun with it. In my yard alone I have found 4 rings and a ton of coins--mostly pennies but 2 were large cents and 2 were Indian Head--also found a Buffalo Nickel with it. Found a silver dime in my mother's yard and an Indian head penny there.Along with lots of wheats & newer pennies. I am still learning but it is a lot of fun--you will enjoy it.

welcome to the forum. I don't own a GT so I can't say anything specific about it, but I would imagine it's a great machine. just get out there and start finding stuff. a lot of people get discouraged because they buy a detector and don't find a treasure chest within the first week of owning it. the truth is, that probably ain't gonna happen....ever. I've been at the hobby for 38 years and have barely found enough to pay for all the batteries I've used. for me, it's all about getting outside and enjoying the fresh air and 'me' time. the occasional silver coin or cool find is just icing on the cake.

I have a coin master gt and live in Tacoma as well. I've went out today with it and found a few items. It is the first metal detector I've owned and I've had fun with it! It is fairly easy to use and the beach mode is pretty neat. I recommend detecting your own yard and getting used to the different tones and readings. Also, bury silver coins or jewelry in some test holes so you can start to read and understand what good targets sound like.

If your interested I'd be happy to meet up sometime!

I own the Coinmaster GT as well. I love it. I think it's a great machine for beginners. In the beginning I struggled a little as I learned how to use it. Recently I bought a smaller coil for it which works great in trashy areas. Also, I have made friends on this forum that have given me great advice. I also learned a lot from the owner of the detector store where it came from. Keep going out every chance you get and you will enjoy your machine more. If you keep it and your gear in your car you'll always be ready to find hidden treasure!
